Who Is Rachel Druckenmiller?
If you’d told my shy, 13-year-old self that I’d one day not just find my voice, but use it to inform and inspire thousands of people around the world, I might not have believed you. A lifetime of striving, proving and achieving, and battling burnout had left me depleted by the age of 32. With 13 years in the health and wellness industry behind me, I hit a wall. I had just been named the #1 Health Promotion Professional in the US, but I wasn’t well. I was sicker than I had ever been — diagnosed with Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) and an acute form of mono. On the heels of that, I was struck by a pickup truck while running and suffered a severe spinal fracture.
During those difficult times of unexpected change and challenges, I started to notice a shift happening in my mindset. I was forced to take time to pause, reflect, recalibrate, and tap into a deep sense of courage and resilience. We don't get to choose what happens to us, but we do get to control what we do with it. I chose to take the challenges I'd been through to bring others hope, connect them to new possibilities and perspectives, and to help them feel a bit less alone and more motivated to take action in their own lives. I started to unmute myself.
Today, I advocate for myself and others, activating in them the same energy and intentionality I’ve connected to in myself. It’s why I chose the name “Unmuted” to describe my own motivation. As I experienced growth and breakthroughs in my life from choosing to live Unmuted, I realized I’d found my passion: inviting people to connect to new possibilities and perspectives, tap into the power of curiosity to find clarity, and help them feel more fulfilled and purposeful in their life and work. I want everybody to feel seen, heard, and validated — they are somebody who matters - and connect to the courage to live life UNMUTED. As a motivational keynote speaker, I get to do that every week!
And if you need to be reminded that you are somebody, check out my first song here.
